Stretching over seven miles of pristine white sandy beaches, Druridge Bay is a haven for those seeking a tranquil escape. The bay is part of a larger country park that includes a variety of habitats such as dunes, woodlands, and freshwater lakes, making it a hotspot for wildlife and birdwatching.

Druridge Bay's expansive beach is perfect for long, leisurely walks. As you stroll along the shoreline, you'll encounter an array of shells, pebbles, and perhaps if you look very carefully some sea glass. The coastal path provides breathtaking views of the North Sea and is ideal for both casual walkers and serious hikers.

The area is renowned for its diverse birdlife. The Druridge Bay Country Park and nearby Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre are fantastic spots to observe a variety of species. Bring your binoculars and keep an eye out for avocets, curlews, and even the elusive barn owl.

For cycling enthusiasts, Druridge Bay offers several trails that wind through picturesque landscapes. Whether you prefer a leisurely ride along the coast or a more challenging route through the park, there's something for every level of cyclist.

The calm waters of Druridge Bay are perfect for water sports such as kayaking, paddleboarding, and windsurfing. There are several local providers offering equipment rentals and lessons for beginners.

History buffs will appreciate the nearby sites of interest, such as the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle and the medieval Warkworth Castle. These historic landmarks provide a fascinating glimpse into Northumberland's rich past.

While Druridge Bay is beautiful year-round, the best time to visit is during the warmer months of late spring to early autumn. This is when the weather is most pleasant, and the flora and fauna are at their most vibrant. Although we try and go every New Years Day for a walk to literally blow away the cobwebs.

Druridge Bay is easily accessible by car from North of South via the A1 and then the A1068, with ample parking available at the country park. If you're relying on public transport, there are regular bus services from nearby towns such as Alnwick and Morpeth.

Binoculars: Essential for birdwatching enthusiasts and if you're lucky seal spotting.

Picnic Supplies: There are plenty of scenic spots perfect for a relaxing picnic. I recommend one of our Wine Tumblers and a pre-mixed Gin & Tonic.

Waterproofs: The weather on the coast like the rest of Britain can be unpredictable, so it's always a good idea to be prepared. I always go with a hat and a waterproof in my bag.

Druridge Bay Country Park has a visitor center with information on local wildlife and walking trails, as well as a café where you can enjoy a hot drink or a light meal and public toilets. As well as an Ice Cream van during the Summer. There are also several charming pubs and restaurants in the surrounding villages that are well worth visiting.
