Discovering the Charm of Corbridge, Northumberland

Nestled in the heart of Northumberland, Corbridge is a picturesque village that seamlessly blends its history, natural beauty, and a vibrant local culture. Whether you're a history buff, a nature lover, or simply someone who enjoys village life, Corbridge offers a little something for everyone.

The moment you enter Corbridge, you'll be captivated by its timeless charm. The town's beautiful streets are lined with stone houses and picturesque cottages that tell tales of a rich history. As you wander through the village, you'll discover hidden gems at every turn.

One of the highlights of any visit to Corbridge is a leisurely walk along the River Tyne. The scenic riverside paths offer stunning views of the surrounding countryside, making it a perfect spot for a peaceful stroll or a picnic. The tranquil sounds of the river, coupled with the lush greenery, create an idyllic setting that feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of city life. There's a conveniently located car park just across the bridge from the centre of town where you can access the footpaths and cycle paths and then wander up into town.

Independent Shops
Corbridge is renowned for its independent shops that exude character and charm. Among them, Forum Books stands out as a must-visit. This independent bookstore is a haven for book lovers, offering a carefully curated selection of titles that cater to all tastes. Whether you're looking for the latest bestseller or a rare find, Forum Books has something for every reader.

Another gem is RE, probably one of my favourite indie shops ever, a unique homeware and lifestyle store. RE is a treasure trove of eclectic and stylish items, from quirky home decor to beautiful handcrafted pieces. It's the perfect place to find a special gift or a unique addition to your home.
The Corbridge Larder is a a fab deli in the centre of Corbridge. Offering a delightful mix of gourmet treats and everyday essentials. Known for its friendly atmosphere and high-quality products, this family-run shop has become a favourite among locals and visitors alike. Whether you're seeking artisan cheeses, freshly baked bread, or a delicious takeaway coffee, the Corbridge Larder promises a unique shopping experience that captures the essence of Northumberland's rich culinary heritage. I'd recommend the Corbridge Gin, made by them and in a great stoneware bottle, it's a great gin and perfect for a tipple after a day exploring and eating your way around Corbridge.

Savouring Local Flavours

After exploring the town and its shops, it's time to indulge in some local flavors. Corbridge boasts several excellent dining options, but two spots particularly stand out. For a laid-back yet sophisticated experience, head to Bar 3. This chic bar offers a fantastic selection of drinks, from expertly crafted cocktails to locally brewed ales. It's the ideal place to unwind and soak in the village atmosphere.

When it comes to dining, The Angel is a top recommendation. This historic inn offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, along with a menu that showcases the best of local produce. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty meal or a light bite, The Angel's culinary offerings are sure to delight.

Corbridge is more than just a beautiful village; it's a destination that offers a rich tapestry of experiences. From its stunning riverside walks and charming independent shops to its delightful dining options, Corbridge invites you to slow down, explore, and savor the moment. Whether you're planning a day trip or a longer stay, this Northumberland gem is sure to leave a lasting impression.
